The Connubers Have Landed

The Conners and Grubers have arrived in Barcelona after a long flight thru Amsterdam (Mike flew thru Paris)

Ben and Finn got a bit of shut eye on the way in, but I think the total sleep between all five of the Conners was less than 6 hours.

Our Apartments are just north of the Gothic district, we have a 3 BR and the Grubers a 2 BR.  Ours has this little balcony and Mikes has a giant roof deck.

Across the street is this crazy building where the façade is peeling away, I think it is a hotel.

This is the foyer looking into the living room, very comfortable.

Our building has a great elevator and front door, I still need a pic of the door but the elevator has manual doors and benches to ride on, Finn looking pretty weary...

This is the elevator door at ground level.  Ben barely fits.

And he is out...We hit a restaurant with pizza for the kids, Finn rallied but was really tired.   After a late lunch is was time to get provisions for the apartments and get familiar with the neighborhood.

It's only day one and I am so sick of selfie stick people.  They are everywhere.

We hit a fancy coffee store, the presentation and sales staff was so sophisticated I thought for sure we would be spending a fortune, but we only spent 8 bucks for fours days worth of coffee.   Food and alcohol here are very inexpensive.

The Gaudi masterpiece Casa Mila, it is on our block. we will be touring here tomorrow.

And another Gaudi façade, the poor guy next door never saw it coming...

And we passed by this cool wooden bike.

After a long first day we enjoyed the roof deck off Mike and Kim's apartment.  Great space.  The girls got working watering the plants and the washing the deck, this turned into a bit of shooting water off the 6 story building onto the streets below, foreshadowing future shenanigans...

And when it was time to shower I checked the water heater, the brand was 'Junkers'.  It's no junker tho, the water comes out at a billion degrees in the shower.

Tomorrow we have a private tour of Gaudi's most famous work, cant wait.
