Bikini Free Barcelona!

Today was our day to rent scooters and zip around Barcelona like experienced moto
people...

Everyone was very excited upon arrival at the scooter shop.
Maggie and Emma look quite good on them.

Ben and I somehow don't look as cute as the girls.  Our hopes and dreams of riding proper scooters was smashed tho, they wouldn't let ben drive his own and the shop owner really didn't think our inexperience and 2 up (two people on one scooter) riding was a good idea.  He didn't outright deny us, but he made it clear he was worried for our safety.  So we bailed much to the sadness of the children.  He recommended a bike shop, so we started heading that way.

We stopped briefly at the Spanish  Arch de Triumph.  I'm not so sure what the triumph was over.  That's when we saw our salvation, an electric bike shop.

They had these cool buggys, the kids liked, but they weren't practical.

Very cool, but hard to take on the beach board walk.  We decided on getting sit down electric scooters for Ben and the adults and Maggie, Emma and Finn got these really cool electric stand up scooters.  We really lucked out here, this was a way better and safer option than the gas scooters and all the kids got to drive their own vehicles.

This is Finn getting his scooter on.  All the kids took to their vehicles like champs, we all set off for the beach.

These guys are ready for the x games after they pound the free 'electric mountain dew' being handed out on the beach board walk.

Here is me chasing down Emma and then Maggie.

And here are the kids, inappropriately dressed, scootering down the boardwalk.

This was the view from our lunch table, the view was great, food was good but in typical Euro fashion it took a long time to get our food, and it never comes out together....and the kids were given my meal thinking it was an appetizer and they devoured it.

So Mike and I passed by a number of beaches before settling on this one.  It was like some kind of force drew us there, not sure what the force was but it just happened to be a clothing optional beach.  What a coincidence.  While Kim and Molly stayed modest (or at least that's what they want me to say here) the beach was quite naked.  Although Finn said he only saw boobs 3 times.  I bet Ben would give a different answer,

Finn Loved the Electric stand up scooter, he asked to come back at 6am the next day and rent them again.

We turned the scooters in at 7, the 5 hours we were on them flew by.  We even drove them thru the city streets to return them. So. Much. Fun.

We took the train home and went out to Qu Qu for dinner, it may have been a Spanish Applebees, but it was not bad and in true Spanish fashion we started eating at 10:30 pm or so.  Off to France tomorrow.
